4-month Artist in residency.
The new West of Amsterdam is a predominantly Turkish, Moroccan and Old Dutch area. I was invited by The Beach to create an exhibition that brings these communities together. How we can do better in breaking barriers and building bridges within our communities, the struggle of language barriers and accepting our differences.
To go alongside several interviews I organised a cultural gathering, inviting people from all backgrounds, cultures, and religions to get to know each other with the help of design, music, and food. The night included a 25ft foot handshake, a scarecrow with friendly projected faces, an eavesdropping poet and several cups & string devices
